"Vinyl Mania" to be held at Kwai Tsing Theatre Plaza next Sunday as part of Community Thematic Carnival Series

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the Community Thematic Carnival Series event "Vinyl Mania" at Kwai Tsing Theatre Plaza next Sunday (May 19) from 2.30pm to 6pm. The programme will feature a selection of all-time favourite songs ranging from jazz and pop to rock 'n' roll by famous singers and bands. More than 100 vinyl record covers will also be on display at the carnival to help spread vinyl fever among the public. Admission to all programmes is free.

     Different groups will perform in the carnival including Aleatory Jazz Ensemble, who will play a number of jazz classics from the 1940s to the '60s such as "Moon River" and "What a Wonderful World". Music Twelve, formed by graduates of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, will perform new arrangements of famous songs by Teresa Teng and Tsai Chin. Rock band Kolor will sing golden songs by local bands, and Robynn and Kendy will play refreshing Cantopop. Renowned a cappella group Gay Singers will use their voices to charm the audience with a number of popular oldies like "Stand by Me".

     Angela Pang and Shirley Yuen will use their beautiful voices to perform oldies like "Stupid Cupid", and in the finale renowned pop singer of the 60's Joe Junior and his band will perform unforgettable songs like "Pretty Woman" and "Unchained Melody".

     More than 100 vinyl record covers will be displayed at the venue, showcasing the album art of many famous pop singers and bands such as the Bee Gees, Air Supply, ABBA, Sam Hui, Alan Tam and Tat Ming Pair.
