Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) held meetings today (May 9) with members of the Yuen Long District Council (DC) and the Kowloon City District Council respectively in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 2 of the LegCo Complex to enable LegCo Members and DC members to discuss and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting with the Yuen Long District Council, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: improving the development of bus routes in Yuen Long district; request for legislative amendments to regulate the stall size of licensed itinerant hawkers; request for relieving street obstruction caused by food establishments; following up the conservation of Nam Sang Wai and related matters and building maintenance policy and fees. The meeting was convened by Mr Wong Ting-kwong and attended by Mr Tam Yiu-chung, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Michael Tien, Mr Steven Ho, Mr Chan Han-pan, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Mr Leung Che-cheung, Ms Alice Mak and Dr Kwok Ka-ki.
As for the meeting with the Kowloon City District Council, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: request for enhancing the regulation of the prices of domestic liquefied petroleum gas; concerns over the issue of street cleanliness in Kowloon City district; request for increasing the supply of public niches and expediting the introduction of the Private Columbaria Bill; request for provision of community halls in Kowloon City district and striving for the development of the "New Kowloon Harbourfront". The meeting was convened by Dr Joseph Lee and attended by Mr Chan Kam-lam, Mr Tommy Cheung, Ms Starry Lee, Dr Priscilla Leung, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Wong Yuk-man, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Steven Ho, Mr Frankie Yick, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Dr Helena Wong, Mr Ip Kin-yuen, Mr Tang Ka-piu, Dr Chiang Lai-wan and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.
