Sick inmate dies in public hospital

A sick inmate who was sent to a public hospital earlier from Stanley Prison died today (May 8).
The 64-year-old male inmate was referred to a public hospital on May 6 because of sickness. His condition deteriorated this morning and he was certified dead at 4.55am.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
The inmate was sentenced to imprisonment of 32 months for wounding with intent.
