Taiwanese beef noodle expert, Captain Cheng Cook Family Group Limited, announced today (May 3) that it has opened its own noodle manufacturing factory in Hong Kong, taking the first step in a major business revamp.
The 3 400-square-feet factory is located in Lai Chi Kok and uses ingredients directly imported from Taiwan, which allows the Group to have full control of the quality of noodles produced and sold in Hong Kong and make sure that they meet the stringent quality standards of the 28-year-old noodle brand.
The Group said that the wholly-owned factory is one of the planned initiatives aimed at enhancing its Hong Kong business. Its retail outlet operation in Hong Kong will also be revamped at later stages.
Director and Executive Chef of Captain Cheng Cook Family Group Limited and the Captain Cheng brand founder, Mr Cheng Chih-hsien, said, "We have been in Hong Kong for three years and are very familiar with its dynamic business environment. We really love the city and would like to continue and diversify our presence here."
Mr Cheng added, "Hong Kong is a vibrant city, with a free economy and a stable society. The city provides us a safe and convenient business environment to run our business. In addition, there is no import tariff, so we can take ingredients directly from Taiwan for better quality control, which is very important for keeping the brand image."
The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Mr Andrew Davis, welcomed Captain Cheng's new factory in Hong Kong and said, "I am delighted to see the commitment of Captain Cheng to Hong Kong. The fact that the company is investing huge amount of money to buy its own factory in Hong Kong also shows their strong commitment to their business and brand. With all these good plans, I am sure Captain Cheng will make a big success in Hong Kong."
