Video released to review 60 years of public housing

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

     Members of the public will learn more about the development of public housing in Hong Kong over the past six decades through a video commissioned by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA).

     Entitled "60 Years of Public Housing Development in Hong Kong", the 15-minute video marks the 60th Anniversary of the public housing development in Hong Kong this year and highlights the different aspects of Hong Kong's public housing, including building and unit designs, estate management activities and sustainable development.  

     It is available on the HA/Housing Department website (www.housingauthority.gov.hk).

     Separately, a public exhibition is planned with the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui from October 2013 to March 2014 to let the public gain more understanding on the development of public housing over the years.  Other regular outreach and education activities of the public housing estates will also highlight aspects of the 60 years of public housing development.
