The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
At the Administration's request, the Chairman of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Finance Committee (FC) has agreed that two FC meetings will be held in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex on May 3 (Friday). During the meeting, members of the FC will continue to examine the Government proposal of seeking a supplementary provision of $100 million to enable an injection to be made to the Disaster Relief Fund for providing emergency relief to earthquake victims in Sichuan Province in the Mainland upon the advice of the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee.
On that day, the first FC meeting will start at 3pm, and the second FC meeting will start at 5.10pm if the House Committee (HC) needs not resume its meeting at 5pm. If the HC needs to resume its meeting at 5pm, the second FC meeting will start immediately after the HC meeting has finished its business.
