Seizure of articles of unexplained origin from remand inmate

Correctional Services officers seized articles of unexplained origin from a remand inmate at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre yesterday (April 20).
During a security check, the officers found a round-shaped crystal-like object and a piece of earring pin from the newly admitted 33-year-old male remand inmate at about 4.20pm.
As the inmate could not account for the ownership of the object, the case has been reported to the Police for follow-up investigation.
The inmate was remanded for an offence of attempted theft.
