Secretary for Justice to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will visit Beijing on April 22 (Monday) to discuss with Mainland officials the development of legal services in Qianhai and Nansha.

     A spokesman for the Department of Justice said that to promote Hong Kong as a leading centre for legal services and dispute resolution in the Asia Pacific region is a policy objective of the Department. In collaboration with, among others, the legal profession and the arbitration community, the Department will promote Hong Kong's legal and arbitration services with a view to securing greater market access in the Mainland, including Qianhai and Nansha.

     Mr Yuen will have meetings with the Vice Minister of Justice, Mr Zhao Dacheng, and the Director General of the Department of Regional Economy of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr Fan Hengshan.

     Also joining the visit will be the Deputy Solicitor General, Mr Peter Wong.

     Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong on April 22 (Monday) evening.
