Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement the following special traffic arrangements this Sunday (April 21) to facilitate a public event held on Hong Kong Island.

A. Road closure

     The Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct will be implemented from 0.01am to mid-night.

     The following roads will be closed from 7.30am to 2.30pm:
- Eastbound carriageway of Des Voeux Road Central between Pedder Street and Queen¡¦s Road Central;
- Ice House Street between Queen¡¦s Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central (except for access to car parks);
- Eastbound carriageway of Queensway between Des Voeux Road Central and Murray Road;
- Westbound carriageway of Chater Road between Murray Road and Jackson Road; and
- Western kerbside lane of Murray Road between Chater Road and Queensway.

B. Traffic diversion

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 7.30am to 2.30pm:
- Traffic along eastbound Des Voeux Road Central will be diverted to Pedder Street;
- Traffic along Ice House Street will be diverted to Queen¡¦s Road Central (except for access to the car parks);
- Eastbound carriageway of Chater Road between Murray Road and Jackson Road will be re-routed to westbound;
- Traffic along Club Street must turn right to westbound Chater Road;
- Vehicles exceeding seven metres in length on westbound Connaught Road Central cannot turn left to Club Street; and
- Vehicles exceeding seven metres in length on Lambeth Walk will be diverted to Murray Road.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made by Police depending on traffic conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
