Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (April 12) in which a 66-year-old woman died.
At about 11.30am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along northbound Hip Wo Street upslope. When reaching Tsui Ping Road, it reportedly knocked down the 66-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state where she was later certified dead at 11.51am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and then granted police bail pending enquiry.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are underway.
