Re-appointment of Chairman of the Public Service Commission

     The Government announced today (April 10) that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Nicholas Ng Wing-fui as Chairman of the Public Service Commission for another term of one year from May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2014.

     "With outstanding leadership and a wealth of civil service experience, Mr Ng has led the Commission in performing very effectively and efficiently its role in ensuring fairness and impartiality in appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service," said the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang. "The Administration is grateful to Mr Ng for accepting the further appointment."

     The Commission is an independent statutory body set up under the Public Service Commission Ordinance. Its major role is to advise the Administration on appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service.

     The serving members of the Commission are Professor Chan Yuk-shee, Mr Vincent Lo Wing-sang, Mr Joseph Pang Yuk-wing, Mr Herbert Tsoi Hak-kong, Mrs Lucia Li Li Ka-lai, Ms Virginia Choi Wai-kam, Mr Thomas Chan Chi-sun and Mrs Paula Ko Wong Chau-mui.
