The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
A delegation of the Hospital Authority (HA), led by the HA Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu, arrived in Guangzhou this morning (April 9) to pay a courtesy visit to the Health Department of Guangdong Province. The delegation included the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin; the Head of Corporate Services, Miss Margaret Cheung; the Chief Infection Control Officer, Dr Dominic Tsang; the Chief Manager (Strategy, Service Planning & Knowledge Management), Dr Libby Lee; and the Chief Pharmacist, Ms Anna Lee.
The HA has been maintaining close liaison and exchange with the Health Department of Guangdong Province. The HA spokesman said the courtesy visit today is a routine exchange to foster closer co-operation with the new leadership of the department.
The delegation will meet with the newly appointed Director-General of the Health Department of Guangdong Province, Mr Chen Yuansheng, and health officials of the department. Both parties will share experience in the areas of public hospital management, Guangdong nurse specialist training, and risk management of infectious diseases in hospitals.
The delegation will conclude the visit and return to Hong Kong this evening.
