New dog spot: Quarry Bay Promenade (with photos)
************************************************

Designed by the Architectural Services Department, Quarry Bay Promenade was opened last December . It is mainly composed of a seaside walkway, green zones and a pet garden which provides a new leisure spot for dogs in urban areas.

The Promenade is situated at Hoi Yu Street in Quarry Bay adjoining Quarry Bay Park. The construction cost is about $19.5 million. The 500-metre-long promenade is specially divided into two linear platforms. The lower platform at the front runs along the waterfront while the higher platform at the back is a lawn area landscaped with trees and shrubs. The latter is also a good location for a panoramic view of the harbour. Complementing the waterfront setting are a timber boardwalk and a granite paving .

To provide more outdoor urban space for pet owners, Quarry Bay Promenade encompasses a pet garden of around 2,500 square metres. Pet lovers can take their pets to the lawn for leisure and pleasure walks in the breeze and alongside views of the magnificent harbour.

Other facilities at the promenade include benches, rain shelters, toilet facilities and barrier-free access.
