*****************************************************

The Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee held its fifth meeting today (March 28).

In today's meeting, Members endorsed the recommendations and views expressed on the priority of allocation of public rental housing (PRH) flats to Waiting List applicants and the maximisation and rationalisation of existing PRH resources as raised at the previous meetings.

Members were also briefed on the latest progress of the Administration's initiatives to increase housing supply and the preliminary findings of the "Survey on Subdivided Units in Hong Kong" commissioned earlier by the Steering Committee.

"The final result of the Survey will be reported to the Steering Committee in future meetings," said the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, who is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee.
