Proposed road works in Area 54, Tuen Mun, gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (March 28) on the proposed road works in Area 54, Tuen Mun.

     The proposed works are as follows:

(i) construction of a section of Road L54D comprising a section of dual two-lane carriageway, a roundabout, a section of single two-lane carriageway and a cul-de-sac;

(ii) construction of a bus lay-by and a minibus/taxi lay-by along the eastern side of the proposed section of the Road L54D;

(iii) construction of a section of cycle track and footpaths;

(iv) construction of a central median, a safety island, run-ins and amenity areas;

(v) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpath into carriageway and a minibus/taxi lay-by;

(vi) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing track into carriageway, a bus lay-by, cycle track, footpath, central median and amenity areas;

(vii) permanent closure and demolition of sections of the existing footpaths and a section of the existing track;

(viii) temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing footpaths; and

(ix) ancillary works including drainage, sewerage, slope, retaining structures and landscaping work.

     The plan and scheme of the proposed works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before May 27, 2013.
