Following is the speech by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, at the Vocational Training Council (VTC) Reception 2013 at the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute today (March 26):
I came here this evening particularly to express my deepest appreciation to VTC. For the last 30 years, VTC has been one of the most important training and educational institutes of Hong Kong. And the most important part of it or the most impressive part of it, is it strives for innovation and creativity to match the needs of Hong Kong young people. So I have no doubt that VTC will go from strength to strength under the able leadership of Clement (VTC Chairman, Mr Clement Chen) and the team, and of course my dear former colleague, Carrie Yau (VTC Executive Director). I wish VTC every success in its future endeavours and all our guests a very happy evening. And for those outstanding students who will be commended this evening, I wish you all the best in your future career. Thank you very much.
