Youth Exchange Session discusses Long Term Housing Strategy (with photos)
************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Commission on Youth:

The Commission on Youth (COY) held an exchange session with youths at the Youth Square today (March 25). The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, attended the session and exchanged views with youths on the topic of "Long Term Housing Strategy".

Professor Cheung said, "Housing and home ownership are currently issues of wide concern in the community. I am glad to see so many young people attending the exchange session today, giving me the opportunity to exchange views with them on the long-term housing strategy of the Government, in response to their needs and aspirations."

Professor Cheung added, "They have participated actively in the discussion. It proves once again that our younger generation cares about the community and their future. This is a good opportunity for me to listen to their views direct, which will enable us to look at things from multiple angles in the process of formulating housing policies. We have also discussed the priority that the Government should accord to different groups in the community, as well as the support that should be given to them to address their housing needs."

The Chairman of the COY, Mr Bunny Chan, said the COY will continue to organise exchange sessions and invite government representatives to attend so that youths will have more opportunities to exchange views with them on topics of concern.
