Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po this morning (March 23) in which a 67-year-old male taxi-driver was killed.
At 4.16am, a taxi driven by the 67-year-old man was travelling along Tolo Highway towards Sheung Shui. When reaching a slip road towards Tai Po North, the taxi reportedly rammed into the rear part of a maintenance truck which stopped on the third lane.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the taxi-driver was sent to the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital where he was later certified dead. A 44-year-old male taxi passenger sustained head and chest injuries and was sent to the same Hospital for in conscious state.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
