Appointments to new term of Steering Committee of Pilot Green Transport Fund

     The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (March 15) announced the appointments to the Steering Committee of the Pilot Green Transport Fund for a new term of two years from March 18, 2013, to March 31, 2015.

     To be chaired by Professor Timothy Tong, President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the new-term Steering Committee comprises members drawn from academic institutions and transport trades as well as representatives from relevant government departments.

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, thanked the outgoing Chairman, Professor Tony Chan, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, for his outstanding leadership and great dedication to the Steering Committee during the past two years.

     The Fund was set up in March 2011 to encourage the transport sector to test out green and low-carbon transport technologies. The Steering Committee has been set up to advise the Government on the approval of funding for relevant applications.
