Employer fined for violation of safety rule

Tsui Wah Efford Management Limited was fined $25,000 at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts today (March 14) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred in Tsuen Wan on August 18 last year, in which a worker fell from a height of about 3 metres to his death while repairing an air-conditioning plant on the roof of a rear yard structure.
