Proposed works of footbridge across Po Yap Road, Tseung Kwan O gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (March 8) proposing the construction of a footbridge across Po Yap Road linking The Grandiose and Bauhinia Garden, Tseung Kwan O, with the aim of providing convenient access for the public.

     The proposed works are as follows:

(i) construction of a covered footbridge with staircase linking the first floor of The Grandiose and the first floor of Bauhinia Garden in Tseung Kwan O;

(ii) construction of a lift at Po Yap Road near Bauhinia Garden for public access between the ground level and the proposed covered footbridge;

(iii) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing cycle track into footpath or planter;

(iv) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpath into a cycle track;

(v) permanent closure and conversion of parts of the existing planters into a cycle track or footpath;

(vi) permanent closure of sections of the existing cycle track and parts of the existing planters for construction of supports for the proposed covered footbridge and proposed lift;

(vii) ancillary works including modification of associated drainage and landscaping works.

     The proposed works involve temporary occupation of areas in The Grandiose and Bauhinia Garden.

     The plan and scheme of the proposed works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before May 7.
