Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi on February 7 in which a 77-year-old man died.

     At 7.04pm on that day, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling along the north bound of Cheung Ho Street. When reaching Cheung Wan Street, the driver found a cyclist lying unconscious on the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the 77-year-old man was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital. He was certified dead at 8.38am on February 21.

     The LGV driver was arrested for careless driving. He was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
