Local music groups to unite for anti-drug show

     Ten local bands from different youth groups, non-governmental organisations, a counselling centre for psychotropic substance abusers and drug treatment and rehabilitation centres will perform at the "Music and Band Peer Platform" show at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre (DIC) on March 9 (Saturday) to showcase their artistic talent and passion for music.

     The show, jointly organised by the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau, the Action Committee Against Narcotics and the DIC, aims to unite youngsters from different fronts to use music to promote anti-drug messages and encourage young people to develop healthy habits and pursue a healthy lifestyle.

     The event is supported by performing groups from various organisations. They include Pendular and Rain in Time from the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups; Sun Rises, Future Star and Genesis from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong - North District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team; a band from the Hong Kong Children and Youth Services Tai Po District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team; the Christian band New Life from the Christian New Life Association; a choir from the Christian Zheng Sheng College; The Way from the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service Cheer Lutheran Centre; and Endless Band from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong - Tin Shui Wai Youth Outreaching Social Work Team.

     The show will be held from 1pm to 5pm in the Interactive Theatre of the DIC at the Roof Floor, Low Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong (Admiralty MTR Station - Exit C1). Members of the public are welcome to attend the show, which is free of charge. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
