U900, the world's first woollen ukulele doll band, is set to return to Hong Kong in March for three evenings of entertaining music and singing. In 2011, the Japanese duo performed in Hong Kong and the performances were well received by audiences. For the upcoming shows, the group will perform with a fresh look and a lively programme including the famous songs "Doraemon", "Thriller" by Michael Jackson and "Yellow Submarine" by the Beatles.
U900 was founded in 2009 by the woollen dolls Rabbit U and Bear 900. Their music is simple and light, and they enjoy bringing joyful and sweet ukulele music to everyone. The group has been loved by audiences of all ages since their debut, and their music and the "U900 effect" have spread around the globe via YouTube. In Thailand, ukulele fans have rushed to purchase ukuleles adorned with U900 stamps. In the US, their music video for "Twist and Shout" was played in the 54th San Francisco International Film Festival to entertain guests at a reception. In Spain, their video for "Diamond Head" went on tour in the mobile cinema Puck Cinema Caravana. And their "London Bridge" was used for a telecommunications advertisement's background music while U900 appeared on screen in Israel. Recently, U900 has released a Michael Jackson tribute album, playing well-known songs by the King of Pop and becoming even more famous around the world.

"U900 Ukulele Live in Hong Kong 2013" is one of the Miracle Fun programmes presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Tickets are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis). A maximum discount of 20 per cent is offered for the Miracle Fun booking package.
