Police will send a team of three Police Inspectorate Officers to Argentina to assist its Argentinian counterpart to investigate a "Request for Police Assistance" case.
Police received two reports on February 20 and 21 respectively that two 17-year-old women were unlawfully detained in Argentina and requested for assistance from Police.
Police are very concerned about the case and have contacted the relevant departments of Argentina yesterday (February 22). Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North took over the case and launched the investigation.
The Police team will depart for Buenos Aires tonight (February 23) and arrive there on February 25 to assist Argentinian Police to investigate the case.
The Police team comprises two Chief Inspectors and a Senior Inspector.
