The Police will implement special traffic arrangements in West Kowloon, New Territories South and Hong Kong Island to facilitate the Hong Kong Marathon 2013 this Sunday (February 24).

Special traffic arrangements will be implemented in phases as follows:

(b) A slip road from northbound Lin Cheung Road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway;
(c) A section of southbound Lin Cheung Road between its junction with the slip road to Tsim Sha Tsui and southbound West Kowloon Highway;
(d) A slip road from northbound Hoi Wang Road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway; and
(e) The bus lane from westbound Jordan Road elevated road leading to Western Harbour Crossing Bus Stops will be closed at its entrance at westbound Jordan Road.

(m) Traffic along southbound Nathan Road will be diverted to turn right to westbound Jordan Road;
(n) Traffic along westbound Jordan Road cannot turn left to southbound Nathan Road;
(o) Traffic along southbound Cox¡¦s Road will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Austin Road;
(p) Traffic along westbound Austin Road will be diverted to turn right to northbound Cox¡¦s Road;
(q) Traffic along Hillwood Road cannot enter southbound Nathan Road;
(r) Traffic along Scout Path cannot enter westbound Austin Road; and
(s) Traffic to MTR Kowloon Station will be diverted via westbound Austin Road West, while traffic leaving the station will be diverted via southbound Nga Cheung Road, eastbound Austin Road West, roundabout Austin Road West and northbound Lin Cheung Road.
(B) Suspension of bus terminuses
All franchised bus terminuses, bus stops, green minibus stops within the operational area will be suspended. Details are as follows:
(a) To Wah Road Bus Terminus will be suspended starting from the first bus of the day;
(b) Franchised buses on southbound Nathan Road will be truncated/diverted to westbound Public Square Street and westbound Jordan Road respectively;
(c) Franchised buses travelling via West Kowloon Highway to Western Harbour Crossing, will be diverted to use Cross Harbour Tunnel at Hung Hom to Hong Kong Island until re-opening of the road;
(d) Buses going to Star Ferry Bus Terminus, via Chatham Road South and Salisbury Road, will not be affected;
(e) Temporary bus terminus will be set up along southbound Road D1A(S), eastbound Wui Cheung Road between Road D1A(S) and Canton Road, and Canton Road between Jordan Road and Saigon Street.
(C) Car park and hotel access
Vehicular access to or exit from hotels and car parks within the affected area will not be allowed during the respective phases of road closures.
(D) On-street parking
On-street parking spaces at Kimberley Road and the section of Canton Road between Jordan Road and Saigon Street will be suspended from 12.01am to noon on February 24. Vehicles parked on roads temporarily closed during the event will be prohibited to move or enter the race route. All vehicles parked in a way causing obstruction will be towed away.
New Territories South

(b) Traffic from Lantau to Tuen Mun and Yuen Long will be diverted via the lower deck of Lantau Link and northbound Ting Kau Bridge before reaching Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel;
(c) Traffic from Ma Wan to Kowloon will be diverted via westbound Lantau Link (Kap Shui Mun Bridge), the lower deck of Lantau Link, North West Tsing Yi Interchange, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road;
(d) Traffic from Ma Wan to Tuen Mun and Yuen Long will be diverted via westbound Lantau Link (Kap Shui Mun Bridge), the lower deck of Lantau Link and northbound Ting Kau Bridge before reaching Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel;
(e) Traffic from Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel intending to use Ting Kau Bridge to go to the Airport, Lantau and Ma Wan will be diverted to use Tuen Mun Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Tsuen Tsing Interchange, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road and the slip road leading to Lantau Link before reaching Lantau Link airport bound;
(f) Traffic from Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel intending to use Ting Kau Bridge to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Tuen Mun Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road;
(g) Traffic from Tsing Yi South intending to use Tsing Sha Highway to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Tsing Yi Road, Kwai Tsing Road, Kwai Tsing Interchange, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road; and
(h) Traffic from Kwai Chung Container Port intending to use Tsing Sha Highway to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Container Port Road South, Hing Wah Street West and Lai Po Road.
The above road closures will not affect traffic from Kowloon / New Territories East via Route 3 or Route 8 to various destinations, including the Airport, the Lantau, Ma Wan and New Territories West.

j. A section of Jaffe Road between Percival Street and Canon Street will be re-routed from one-way westbound to one-way eastbound (for GMBs only);
k. Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road will be diverted to northbound Marsh Road at grade;
l. Traffic along eastbound Jaffe Road will be diverted to northbound Percival Street, except GMBs;
m. If necessary, traffic along eastbound Hennessy Road cannot turn left to Marsh Road; and
n. If necessary, traffic along Tin Lok Lane heading for northbound Marsh Road will be prohibited and must turn left or right to westbound or eastbound Hennessy Road respectively.
(B) Lifting of pedestrian precinct:
The Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct will remain open to traffic until 3pm or when all major road closures on Hong Kong Island are re-opened to vehicular traffic.
(C) Extension of Lockhart Road, East Point Road and Great George Street pedestrian precinct
Road closure for the pedestrian precinct at Lockhart Road (between Cannon Street and East Point Road), East Point Road and Great George Street (between East Point Road and Paterson Street) will be extended from 12.01am to 11.59pm on February 24. The roads will be re-opened to all vehicular traffic from 12.01am on February 25.
(D) Suspension of parking spaces
Parking spaces at the following locations will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm:
a. Lung King Street;
b. Coach parking spaces at Expo Drive East; and
c. A section of Jaffe Road between Percival Street and Cannon Street.
(E) Restriction on access to and exit from car parks and hotels on closed roads
Vehicular access to and from the car parks at Great George Street and Park Lane Hotel will be closed from 5am to 2.15pm. Vehicles parked in car parks within the closed areas will not be permitted to leave the car parks during the road closure period.
(F) Suspension of taxi stands
Taxi stands at the following locations will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm:
a. Man Kwong Street;
b. Expo Drive;
c. Paterson Street; and
d. Lockhart Road near Cannon Street.
(G) Suspension of public light bus stands
Public light bus stands at the following locations will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm:
a. Sugar Street; and
b. Eastbound Lockhart Road near Canal Road West.
(H) Suspension of GMB stands
GMB stands at the following locations will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm:
a. Man Kwong Street;
b. Tin Hau Public Transport Interchange (from 4am to 11am);
c. Paterson Street;
d. Cannon Street; and
e. Lockhart Road.
(I) Suspension of bus terminus and bus stops
a. The bus terminus at Expo Drive East will be suspended from 12.01am to 2.15pm; and
b. Bus stops at Man Kwong Street, northbound Fleming Road, eastbound Convention Avenue and eastbound Harbour Road will be suspended from 6am to 2.15pm.

g. Hong On Street will be only for access to and from Eastern Harbour Crossing. Traffic heading for westbound Island Eastern Corridor will be diverted to westbound Hong On Street and King's Road. Traffic along Hong Yue Street (except those heading to Eastern Harbour Crossing) will be diverted to westbound Hong On Street;
h. Traffic along Taikoo Wan Road slip road heading for westbound Island Eastern Corridor will be diverted to Taikoo Shing Road and King's Road;

A section of westbound Island Eastern Corridor between Eastern Harbour Crossing exit and down ramp slip road leading to Man Hong Street will be closed. Traffic from Eastern Harbour Crossing exit heading for westbound Island Eastern Corridor will be diverted to Hong On Street, Tai On Street, Shau Kei Wan Road and King's Road during the closure of Man Hong Street slip road.
Phase V - from 5.15am to 10.30am

e. A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street; and
f. Westbound Kingston Street.

a. Traffic along southbound Causeway Bay flyover will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road (access to southbound Tai Hang Road flyover is allowed from 10.30am onwards);
b. Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street cannot turn left to Sugar Street;
c. Traffic along southbound Paterson Street will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Kingston Street and northbound Gloucester Road;
d. Traffic along Cleveland Street will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Kingston Street and northbound Gloucester Road; and
e. Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road flyover will be diverted to northbound Gloucester Road and Gloucester Road service road.
(B) Suspension of parking spaces
a. All on-street parking spaces at eastbound Lockhart Road between Marsh Road and Percival Street will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm;
b. All parking spaces (except disabled parking spaces) at Hing Fat Street Public Car Park will be suspended from 10pm on February 23 to 3pm on February 24; and
c. All metered parking spaces and parking spaces for motorcycles on the eastern kerbside lane of Tung Lo Wan Road between Lin Fa Kung Street West and King¡¦s Road will be suspended between 3am and 10am.
(C) Suspension of taxi stands
Taxi stands at Electric Road near Yacht Street and at Lau Li Street near Hing Fat Street will be suspended from 4am to 10.30am.
(D) Suspension of Tin Hau Public Transport Interchange
The Tin Hau Public Transport Interchange will be suspended from 4am to 11am.
(E) Suspension of bus stops
a. Bus stop outside Hing Fat Street Public Car Park will be suspended from 4am to 10.30am; and
b. Bus stop at Gloucester Road outside Gate 6 of Victoria Park will be suspended from 4.30am to 2.15pm.
