Government statement on 3A Holidays Company Limited incident
************************************************************

The Government today (February 18) issued the following statement on the 3A Holidays Company Limited incident:

A man, who claimed to be the General Manager of 3A Holidays Company Limited, made some comments this afternoon about the incident involving 3A Holidays. According to the records of the Travel Agents Registry, he is not a shareholder, director or responsible person of 3A Holidays. The Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, will not comment on his remarks.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is very disappointed that the responsible person of 3A Holidays is still unable to explain the case in person.

The Government reiterated that the incident had adversely affected the reputation of the Hong Kong tourism industry and aroused the concern of the community. The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong should handle the case seriously.
