Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "An Audiovisual Concert - LiveĦEPlanetĦENoise" by Choi Sai-ho will be staged in March.
The production is about the noise of our planet, which is a chaotic mix of sounds rich in cultural symbolism and inspiration. By remixing these sounds and images, "An Audiovisual Concert - LiveĦEPlanetĦENoise" redefines them. Local electronic musician and audiovisual artist Choi Sai-ho is exploring this hectic world of noise by collaborating with video artists including Adrian Yeung, Ip Yuk-yiu, Rita Hui and Shelf-Index, as well as local musicians like Jing Wong, Kenneth Tsang (Modern Children) and Jan Curious (Chochukmo), to create an extraordinary multimedia performance.
Choi Sai-ho was named by Time Out Hong Kong magazine as one of Hong Kong's top 20 musicians in 2008, and the magazine awarded his song "Weird Mind" as the best Hong Kong indie music track in 2009. Choi has also appeared in CNNGo's list of the best 10 Hong Kong bands in 2011. He has participated in visual projection design for Cantopop singers Anthony Wong (Shanghai Concert 2007) and Eason Chan (Live Tour Concert 2008), and was the supporting act for the UK audiovisual group D-Fuse at the closing gala of Hong Kong's 14th IFVA (Incubator for Film and Visual Media in Asia) Festival in 2009. He has also participated in over 40 audio-visual performances for music festivals, arts programmes and events, including Perform Media Festival 2006 (USA), T(h)ree Concert 2011 (Portugal), Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival 2011 (Hong Kong), Electron Festival 2012 (Switzerland), Worldtronics 2012 (Germany) and more. Choi is currently a part-time lecturer at the School of Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong.
"An Audiovisual Concert - LiveĦEPlanetĦENoise" by Choi Sai-ho will be staged at 8pm on March 29 and 30 (Friday and Saturday) at the Multimedia Theatre, HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity. Tickets priced at $170 are now available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by Credit Card Telephone Booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
