Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal work in Causeway Bay

     The Transport Department (TD) today (February 14) reminded the public that the following traffic lanes will be temporarily closed from 10am this Sunday (February 17) to noon on February 20 (Wednesday) to facilitate tram track renewal work:

(i) the fast lane of Leighton Road westbound from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Percival Street to a point about 40 metres west of the same junction;

(ii) the fast lane of Leighton Road eastbound from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Percival Street to a point about 40 metres west of the same junction;

(iii) the fast lane of Leighton Road westbound between Hysan Avenue and Percival Street;

(iv) the fast lane of Percival Street southbound between Sharp Street East and Leighton Road; and

(v) the fast lane of Hysan Avenue southbound from its junction with Leighton Road to a point about 20 metres north of the same junction.

     Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions from the Police. People planning to go to the affected area are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. The public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
