The Government today (February 1) announced the appointment of Miss Grace Chan Man-yee as a member of the Consumer Council with effect from today to December 31, 2014.
"We are delighted that Miss Chan, Chief Officer (Elderly Service) of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, has accepted the appointment. We are confident that her experience and expertise will contribute substantially to the work of the Council in promoting consumer interests," a government spokesman said.
Mr Godfrey Lam Wan-ho, who has been appointed as a Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court, retired from the Council on January 10. "We would like to express our gratitude to Mr Lam for his invaluable work at the Council," the spokesman added.
The appointment notice was published in the Gazette today.
