Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this (January 27) morning in which a 73-year-old man died.
About 6.30am, a private car driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling along Hong Ning Road towards Kwun Tong. When reaching near Hamden Court, it reportedly knocked down the 73-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries to his head and left leg, the pedestrian was rushed to the United Christian Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.50am.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
