CP attends 21st Bilateral Meeting between Mainland Public Security Authorities and HKP

     The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Wai-hung, headed an 11-member delegation to Shenzhen today (January 23) to attend the 21st Bilateral Meeting between the Mainland Public Security Authorities and Hong Kong Police Force.

     During the annual Bilateral Meeting, issues that both Hong Kong and the Mainland police concerned have been discussed.  In addition to the evaluation of crime situation in the Mainland and Hong Kong, both parties have reviewed the bilateral cooperation during the past year.  Besides the above, both sides have exchanged their views on areas of maintenance of law and order, boundary control, criminal investigation, Internet security, cross-boundary crimes, anti-narcotics, counter-terrorism, police liaison and training.  

     The Mainland delegation was headed by the Vice Minister of Public Security, Mr Chen Zhimin, with delegates comprising heads of various bureaux under the Ministry of Public Security, directors from Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB), Shenzhen PSB, Zhuhai PSB and leading officials from Anti-Smuggling Bureau under the General Administration of Customs.  As for the Hong Kong delegation, it comprised officers in charge of criminal, operational and training matters.

     The delegation will return to Hong Kong tonight.
