FEHD orders Tsuen Wan light refreshment restaurant to suspend business for two weeks
******************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a light refreshment restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 14 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the food business area.

The restaurant, Chun Hin Restaurant, located at shop No. 13B and 15 on the ground floor of plot A of Wealthy Shopping Arcade at No. 10A Tsuen Kwai Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (January 12) to January 25.

"In September and November last year, two convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $2,700 was levied by the court and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

The licensee of the food premises had a record of two convictions for the same offence in June 2011 and April last year. A total fine of $2,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in July last year.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
