Progress of banking complaint cases of the HKMA

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:

     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (January 11) the progress of its banking complaint cases at the end of December 2012.  These cases include both Lehman-Brothers-related and other non-Lehman-Brothers-related banking complaints as well as other cases referred by our banking departments and other regulators.

     In December 2012, 74 cases were received and 123 cases were completed.  As at end December, the handling of 1,313 cases were in progress.  

     A table summarising the progress of the banking complaint cases is attached.
