Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in which a 47-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy died in Chai Wan today (January 8).
About 9.22am, Police received a report from a 40-year-old man that his 47-year-old wife was found hanging and his 10-year-old son was lying unconsciously on a bed with neck injuries inside their residence on Taikoo Wan Road, Chai Wan.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the woman hanging while the boy lying unconsciously on a bed with neck injuries inside the bedroom. The woman and boy were certified dead at scene.
After initial investigations, it is believed that the woman committed suicide after killing her son. Post-mortem examinations on the deceased will be conducted on January 10 to ascertain the causes of death.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District are underway.
