The Land Registry today (January 4) released its statistics for 2012.
Land registration

* The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration for 2012 was 115,533 (+6.2 per cent compared with 2011 but -29 per cent compared with 2010).
* The total consideration for these agreements for 2012 was $653.96 billion (+11.2 per cent compared with 2011 but -5.2 per cent compared with 2010).
* The number of assignments of building units for 2012 was 118,184 (-20.8 per cent compared with 2011 and -36.8 per cent compared with 2010).
* The total consideration for these assignments for 2012 was $588.3 billion (-17.6 per cent compared with 2011 and -14.4 per cent compared with 2010).
Land search

* The number of searches of land registers made by the public for 2012 was 5,113,510 (-0.8 per cent compared with 2011 and -14.9 per cent compared with 2010).
