Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in North Point this morning (December 31) in which a 83-year-old woman died.
At about 10.45am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man was travelling along westbound Marble Road. When turning right into Shu Kuk Street, the driver found the 83-year-old female pedestrian lying on the carriageway.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.07pm.
The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island.
