21 building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 21 building plans in November, with one on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and 12 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 10 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, seven were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments and three were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 21,605 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 193 units, and 64,202 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 13 building projects.

     The department also issued 11 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 22,265 sq m, involving 33 units, and 72,273 sq m for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $1.8 billion.

     In addition, 12 demolition consents involving 12 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3,769 reports about unauthorised building works in November, and issued 1,338 removal orders on unauthorised works.
