The new year is coming soon. Are you thinking of picking up some unique handicrafts, paintings or calligraphy works to decorate your home or office, or do you wish to have a sketch or silhouette cutting of your own?

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department sincerely invites members of the public to visit the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park, where they will be able to find various interesting handicrafts and arts services stalls while visiting the park. The Arts Corner will run from tomorrow (January 1) to the end of next year.

"The Arts Corner aims to help enhance public interest in arts and arts appreciation, thereby cultivating the arts culture in Hong Kong. It will also make the park more appealing and enjoyable for park-goers," a spokesman for the department said.

The new phase of the Hong Kong Park Arts Corner will be open on every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday between noon and 6pm from tomorrow until December 31, 2013, at the outdoor area near the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware. There will be 10 handicrafts and arts services stalls in operation.

The handicraft stalls will offer dough models, environmentally friendly handicrafts, floral artworks, paper craftworks, cloth artworks, pins with names and clay works, while the arts services stalls will provide services in painting, calligraphy, silhouette cutting, sketching, caricature and natural crystal painting.

Members of the public can select their favourite handicrafts or artworks to suit their own interests. The stalls, specially designed by stallholders, will provide a wide array of items and products catering to various needs and interests. Members of the public should be able to pick their favourite items.

"This is the 13th phase of the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park since it was launched in 2002, and the event has been well received by the general public. Besides the Arts Corner, other specialised facilities in the park such as the aviary, the conservatory, Vantage Point and Olympic Square can also win the hearts of visitors. They can enjoy a fun-filled weekend in the park," the spokesman said.

People of all ages are welcome to visit the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park and admission is free. For enquiries, please call 2521 5041.
