The Competition Policy Advisory Group (COMPAG) today (December 28) published its 2011-2012 Annual Report, which is available online at the COMPAG website www.compag.gov.hk.
A government spokesman said, "The report reviews the complaints received by COMPAG during the year and outlines the progress of investigation and follow-up actions taken."
"The Competition Ordinance was enacted in June 2012. It is a major milestone in the development of competition policy in Hong Kong, signifying the determination of the Government in maintaining fair and free competition in the market. The report also sets out the key elements of the Competition Ordinance," the spokesman added.
COMPAG was established in December 1997 under the chairmanship of the Financial Secretary to co-ordinate the Government's efforts in promoting competition, to review competition issues that have substantial policy or systemic implications, and to give directions to bureaux and departments on such matters.
