Road works for segregated pedestrian walkway and cycle track along Mui Wo waterfront gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (December 21) on road works for a segregated pedestrian walkway and cycle track along the waterfront between Mui Wo Cooked Food Market and the River Silver in Mui Wo, Lantau Island. The works were authorised by the Chief Executive in Council.

     The works include:

(i) construction of a footpath along the waterfront between Mui Wo Cooked Food Market and the River Silver;

(ii) construction of a footbridge across the River Silver;

(iii) construction of amenity areas;

(iv) reclamation of government foreshore and seabed for placing the piles of the proposed footpath and the structural support of the proposed footbridge;

(v) permanent closure and conversion of a section of the existing carriageway, sections of the existing footpaths, the existing footbridge and the existing amenity area into sections of cycle tracks;

(vi) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpath into amenity areas;

(vii) temporary closure and reconstruction of a section of the existing carriageway, sections of the existing footpaths, a section of the existing cycle track and a section of the existing amenity area; and

(viii) ancillary works including reinstatement of the seawall, landscaping, drainage and utilities works.
