The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) appeals to people who are of the type O positive blood group to come forward as early as possible to donate blood. In the last several weeks, it was noted that the number of blood donations in Hong Kong has dropped significantly due to the recent cold weather. To ensure adequate supply for patient treatments in hospitals, we need some 100 type O positive people to give blood in the next few days, in addition to the regular daily requirement of 800 donations.
To reciprocate the warmth that blood donors bring to others, the BTS will present a scarf to donors who give blood from now until January 3 while stocks last.
