CSSA caseload for November

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a drop of 1,063 cases, representing a decrease of 0.4 per cent, when compared to that in October, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 19).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 270,060 (see attached table), with a total of 420,509 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low earnings and unemployment cases registered month-to-month decreases of 2 per cent and 1.5 per cent to 10,511 cases and 24,230 cases respectively. Single parent cases also dropped by 0.9 per cent to 31,147 cases.

     Ill health and old age cases registered decreases of 0.2 per cent and 0.1 per cent to 25,278 cases and 153,484 cases respectively. Permanent disability cases registered a slight increase of 0.1 per cent to 18,376 cases.
