The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will pay a duty visit to Beijing between December 20 and 22.
Mr Leung will brief the state leaders on the latest economic, social and political developments in Hong Kong. He will also meet with Hong Kong people who work and do business in Beijing to keep abreast of their living and working situation.
The Chief Executive will be accompanied by the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Edward Yau; the Director of Information Services, Mr Michael Wong; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Carlson Chan; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Nick Au Yeung.
Mr Leung will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon of December 22. During his absence, the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
