Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media standup after visiting the 47th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo this morning (December 15):
Reporter: Mr Leung, why have you broken your election promise that you will not seek interpretation from the Central Government?
Chief Executive: This is a submission made by lawyers to the Court. The Government is not putting any pressure on the Judiciary. The Government respects absolutely, the independence of our Judiciary. At the same time, I hope that no one would try to influence the Court outside the court proceedings. Thank you.
