Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi early this morning (December 15) in which a 29-year-old man was killed.  

     At about 4.50am this morning, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along Tsing Luk Street and stopped at the entrance of Tsing Yi Municipal Services Building. It was reportedly crashed with a public light bus (PLB) driven by the 29-year-old man from the rear side.
     
     Sustaining serious injuries, the PLB driver was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 5.49am. The LGV driver and six PLB male passengers aged 18 to 58 also sustained injuries and were sent to the PMH and Yan Chai Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.

     Investigations by the Special Investigations Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.  

     Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 3661 1300 or 3661 1348.
