FEHD orders Tsuen Wan restaurant to suspend business for three weeks
*********************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 21 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the food business area.

The restaurant, located at No. 24 on the ground floor of Sam Pei Square, was ordered to suspend business from today (December 13) to January 2.

"Between June and October this year, four convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $6,200 was levied by the court and 60 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in seven-day and 14-day business suspensions running consecutively," he added.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
