Police will implement special traffic arrangements from tomorrow (December 12) to January 8, 2013 in Causeway Bay and Tin Hau to facilitate an expo to be held in Victoria Park.
Pedestrianisation
-----------------
The following roads will be pedestrianised from 4pm to midnight on weekdays and from noon to midnight on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during the period:
- A section of Lockhart Road east of Cannon Street;
- East Point Road; and
- A section of Great George Street west of Paterson Street.
Road closure
------------
The following roads may be closed to facilitate the crowd flow:
- A section of southbound Gloucester Road between the ramp leading from Victoria Park Road flyover and Causeway Road;
- Sugar Street;
- A section of northbound Gloucester Road between Causeway Road and Kingston Street, except northbound traffic from Tai Hang Road flyover;
- Great George Street;
- A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
- A section of westbound Kingston Street between northbound Gloucester Road and Paterson Street;
- A section of Paterson Street between westbound Gloucester Road and Kingston Street;
- Kingston Street;
- Cleveland Street; and
- Depending on the situation, Hing Fat Street will be intermittently closed, except for franchised buses and green minibuses (GMBs).
Traffic diversion
-----------------
The following road diversions will be implemented to facilitate the crowd flow:
- Traffic on Victoria Park Road flyover will be diverted to westbound Gloucester Road;
- Traffic on eastbound Yee Wo Street will not be allowed to enter Sugar Street;
- Traffic on southbound Paterson Street will be diverted to eastbound Kingston Street; and
- Traffic on southbound Cleveland Street will be diverted to eastbound Kingston Street.
Suspension of parking spaces
----------------------------
The parking spaces of Hing Fat Street Public Carpark will be suspended from 8am to 11.59pm daily between December 12 and January 8, 2013, except 10 parking spaces near the exit of the carpark, motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces.
Vehicles bearing the organiserˇ¦s authorisation will be allowed to enter this carpark for loading and unloading purpose.
Vehicles are prohibited to access or leave public carparks at Great George Street and Park Lane Hotel during the road closure period.
Suspension of bus and GMB terminus and lay-by
---------------------------------------------
The Tin Hau Public Transport Interchange may be suspended. Bus and GMB termini will then be relocated to Ngan Mok Street and the lay-by outside Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay on Tung Lo Wan Road.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
