Six local dance choreographers to "Carry On" on stage
*****************************************************

Six talented local choreographers active in Hong Kong's dance scene will jointly stage a new production entitled "Carry On".

Cyrus Hui, Elaine Kwok, Ivanhoe Lam, Max Lee, Chloe Wong and Rebecca Wong will each choreograph a dance work. Their six convoluted routes will converge on stage where the dancers will shine in their individual spheres, then carry on through dots and dashes towards their apparent destination without pause. The dancers are Cyrus Hui, Leung Chi-shing, Li Lu, Mak Yuen-yi, Chloe Wong, Wu Wing-yan, Yau Ka-hei and Christine He (Germany).

Cyrus Hui graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in modern dance and choreography. He pursued further studies at Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany with a scholarship from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. Over the years, Hui has gained extensive performing experience in Germany, France, Italy and on the Mainland. In 2011, Cyrus received a Hong Kong Dance Award for "Positioning".

Elaine Kwok graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in modern dance. In 2011, she was invited to perform her solo work "Of Mud and Dust" at the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Apart from local groups, Kwok has collaborated with various organisations from Singapore, the United States and Australia.

Ivanhoe Lam graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He then attained a BFA in Codarts University (Rotterdam Dance Academy) majoring in choreography. His works have been presented in Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Den Haag and Amsterdam. He was also choreographer or movement coach in theatre productions. His recent works as a performer include "Maze" by Passoverdance and "Sucks".

Max Lee graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Musical Theatre Dance. He was awarded a scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to receive further training in modern dance at the London Contemporary Dance School in the United Kingdom. On returning to Hong Kong, Lee resumed his involvement with the local arts scene. His productions have been staged locally and overseas, some of the notable works being the opening ceremony of the Doha Asian Games (2006) and the Paper Tiger Theatre of Beijing's "Cool" (2009).

Chloe Wong graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in Modern Dance. She was awarded a scholarship by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to attend a programme jointly organised by Hollins University and the American Dance Festival. Her choreography has been seen in the US, Greece, Malaysia, on the Mainland and in Hong Kong.

Rebecca Wong graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She later studied at Laban Centre London - Transition Dance Company (UK). During her study period, she received various local scholarships. She has worked with different companies all over the globe, including the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and the Mainland.
