Fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this morning (December 6) in which a 87-year-old man was killed.  

     At about 8.40am today, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along Pau Chung Street west bound. When turning right to Ma Hang Chung Road, it reportedly knocked down the 87-year-old man who was crossing the road.
     
     Sustaining serious head injuries, the 87-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 12.46pm.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early-January next year.

     Investigations by the Special Investigations Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
